Lacrosse Crash Course

Verona Lacrosse Club is part of the Badgerland Youth Lacrosse Association.

Lacrosse season starts in early March, depending on facility availability, and goes through the first week of June. Practice starts indoors if/when facilities are available. As the weather gets warmer, they move outside. Practices are typically 1-3 days/week for 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the team or age level. Boys teams practice at the fields behind Sugar Creek Elementary School, Badger Ridge/ Core Knowledge. Girls teams practice at the field next to VAIS/ New Century Charter School. Teams typically play between 10-12 conference games on the weekends between mid- April to early June. Most often, 2 games are played in a single location on a single weekend day. Games are held both at home in Verona and in area communities that also participate in the Badgerland Lacrosse Association.

Between 2 and 4 local and regional tournaments are played by VLC teams, depending on team level. This provides the opportunity to compete against out-of-conference teams to learn more and extend the lacrosse community. Verona Lacrosse Club hosts the Badger Spring Invite, a play- day style tournament, in Wisconsin Dells each year.
